1-6 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-7 AN ACT
1-8 relating to parking of a commercial vehicle in certain
 1-9 subdivisions.
1-10 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-11 SECTION 1. Section 545.307(a)(1), Transportation Code, is
1-12 amended to read as follows:
1-13 (1) "Commercial motor vehicle" means:
1-14 (A) a commercial motor vehicle, as defined [has
1-15 the meaning assigned] by Section 522.003, and includes a vehicle
1-16 meeting that definition regardless of whether the vehicle is used
1-17 for a commercial purpose; or
1-18 (B) a road tractor, truck tractor, pole trailer,
1-19 or semitrailer, as those terms are defined by Section 541.201.
1-20 SECTION 2. The amendments made by this Act to Section
1-21 545.307, Transportation Code, apply in a subdivision for which
1-22 signs were posted under that section before the effective date of
1-23 this Act. This Act does not require the filing of an additional
1-24 petition under that section for such a subdivision.
1-25 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 1999.
1-26 SECTION 4. The importance of this legislation and the
1-27 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-28 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-29 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-30 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
