 1-8 AN ACT
1-9 relating to the accounting system in certain counties.
1-10 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-11 SECTION 1. Section 112.002, Local Government Code, is
1-12 amended by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
1-13 (c) A regulation adopted under this section may not be
1-14 inconsistent with generally accepted accounting principles as
1-15 established by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board.
1-16 SECTION 2. (a) This Act applies only to a regulation
1-17 adopted by a county on or after the first day of the county's

1-21 of this Act is covered by the law in effect immediately before the
1-22 effective date of this Act, and the former law continues in effect
1-23 for that purpose.
1-24 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the
1-25 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an

1-29 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
