Substitute the following for H.B. No. 1312:
         By Naishtat C.S.H.B. No. 1312
                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-1 AN ACT
1-2 relating to the delivery of protective orders to certain affected
 1-3 persons.
1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-5 SECTION 1. Section 85.042, Family Code, is amended by
1-6 amending Subsection (d) and adding Subsection (e) to read as
 1-7 follows:
1-8 (d) The applicant or the applicant's attorney shall provide
1-9 in writing to the clerk of the court:
1-10 (1) the name, facsimile number, if any, and mailing
1-11 address of each law enforcement agency, child-care facility, and
1-12 school to which the clerk is required to send [mail] a copy of the
1-13 order under this section; and
1-14 (2) any other information required under Section

1-16 (e) A copy of an order sent under Subsection (a) or (b)
1-17 shall be sent by mail. The clerk of the court may send a copy of
1-18 the order by facsimile transmission in addition to mailing a copy

1-20 substantial copy of the order under this section.
1-21 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the
1-22 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-23 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-24 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
2-1 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
2-2 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
2-3 passage, and it is so enacted.
