A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1-1 AN ACT
1-2 relating to consolidating the juvenile boards in Bosque, Comanche,
1-3 and Hamilton counties.
1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-5 SECTION 1. Section 152.0241, Human Resources Code, is
1-6 amended to read as follows:
1-7 Sec. 152.0241. BOSQUE COUNTY. (a) Bosque County is
1-8 included in the Bosque, Comanche, and Hamilton counties juvenile
1-9 board. The juvenile board [of Bosque County] is composed of:
1-10 (1) the county judge in Bosque County;
1-11 (2) the county judge in Comanche County;
1-12 (3) the county judge in Hamilton County; and
1-13 (4) the 220th Judicial District judge [and the
1-14 district judges in Bosque County].
1-15 (b) The 220th Judicial District judge [juvenile court judge]
1-16 is the chairman of the board and its chief administrative officer.
1-17 (c) The commissioners court of Bosque County shall [may] pay
1-18 the county judge in Bosque County and the 220th Judicial District
1-19 judge [juvenile board members] additional annual compensation set
1-20 by the commissioners court at not less than the amount paid to a
1-21 board member under this section on October 1, 1998 [more than
1-22 $1,200 for the added duties imposed on the members]. The
1-23 additional compensation shall be paid in equal monthly installments
1-24 from the general fund of the county.
2-1 (d) Sections 152.0002, [152.0003,] 152.0004, [152.0005,]
2-2 152.0006, 152.0007, and 152.0008(a) do not apply to the juvenile
2-3 board of Bosque County.
2-4 SECTION 2. Section 152.0531, Human Resources Code, is
2-5 amended to read as follows:
2-6 Sec. 152.0531. COMANCHE COUNTY. (a) Comanche County is
2-7 included in the Bosque, Comanche, and Hamilton counties juvenile
2-8 board. The juvenile board [of Comanche County] is composed of:
2-9 (1) the county judge in Bosque County;
2-10 (2) the county judge in Comanche County;
2-11 (3) the county judge in Hamilton County; and
2-12 (4) the 220th Judicial District judge [and the
2-13 district judges in Comanche County].
2-14 (b) The 220th Judicial District judge [juvenile court judge]
2-15 is the chairman of the board and its chief administrative officer.
2-16 (c) The commissioners court of Comanche County shall [may]
2-17 pay the county judge in Comanche County and the 220th Judicial
2-18 District judge [juvenile board members] additional annual
2-19 compensation set by the commissioners court at not less than the
2-20 amount paid to a board member under this section on October 1, 1998

2-27 SECTION 3. Section 152.1031, Human Resources Code, is
3-1 amended to read as follows:
3-2 Sec. 152.1031. HAMILTON COUNTY. (a) Hamilton County is
3-3 included in the Bosque, Comanche, and Hamilton counties juvenile
3-4 board. The juvenile board [of Hamilton County] is composed of:
3-5 (1) the county judge in Bosque County;
3-6 (2) the county judge in Comanche County;
3-7 (3) the county judge in Hamilton County; and
3-8 (4) the 220th Judicial District judge [and the
3-9 district judges in Hamilton County].
3-10 (b) The 220th Judicial District judge [juvenile court judge]
3-11 is the chairman of the board and its chief administrative officer.
3-12 (c) The commissioners court of Hamilton County shall [may]
3-13 pay the county judge in Hamilton County and the 220th Judicial
3-14 Disrict judge [juvenile board members] additional annual
3-15 compensation set by the commissioners court at not less than the
3-16 amount paid to a board member under this section on October 1, 1998
3-17 [more than $1,200 for the added duties imposed on the members].
3-18 The compensation shall be paid in equal monthly installments from
3-19 the general fund of the county.
3-20 (d) Sections 152.0002, [152.0003,] 152.0004, [152.0005,]

3-22 board of Hamilton County.
3-23 SECTION 4. The importance of this legislation and the
3-24 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
3-25 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
3-26 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
3-27 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
4-1 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
4-2 passage, and it is so enacted.
