 1-6                            A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-7                                   AN ACT
 1-8     relating to the terms of court of the 50th District Court.
 1-9           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-10           SECTION 1.  Section 24.152(c), Government Code, is amended to
1-11     read as follows:
1-12           (c)  The terms of the 50th District Court in each county
1-13     begin[:]
1-14                 [(1)  in Baylor County] on the first Mondays in January
1-15     and September[;]
1-16                 [(2)  in Cottle County on the first Mondays in April
1-17     and December;]
1-18                 [(3)  in King County on the first Mondays in March and
1-19     November; and]
1-20                 [(4)  in Knox County on the first Mondays in February
1-21     and October].
1-22           SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 1999.
1-23           SECTION 3.  The importance of this legislation and the
1-24     crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-25     emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-26     constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-27     days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
