No. 2272 76R5835 WP-F A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to advisory committees to the Parks and Wildlife 1-3 Commission. 1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-5 SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 11, Parks and Wildlife 1-6 Code, is amended by adding Section 11.0162 to read as follows: 1-7 Sec. 11.0162. ADVISORY COMMITTEES TO COMMISSION. (a) The 1-8 chairman may appoint committees to advise the commission on issues 1-9 under its jurisdiction. 1-10 (b) The chairman may adopt rules that set the membership, 1-11 terms of service, qualifications, operating procedures, and other 1-12 standards to ensure the effectiveness of an advisory committee 1-13 appointed under this section. 1-14 SECTION 2. The following provisions of the Parks and 1-15 Wildlife Code are repealed: 1-16 (1) Sections 22.002-22.005; 1-17 (2) Sections 22.012-22.015; 1-18 (3) Sections 22.262-22.264; 1-19 (4) Section 28.003; 1-20 (5) Section 49.016; and 1-21 (6) Section 89.021(d). 1-22 SECTION 3. (a) This Act takes effect September 1, 1999. 1-23 (b) The term of a member of an advisory committee, 1-24 commission, or board created under Section 22.002, 22.012, 22.262, 2-1 28.003, 49.016, or 89.021(d), Parks and Wildlife Code, repealed by 2-2 Section 2 of this Act, who is serving on August 31, 1999, expires 2-3 September 1, 1999. 2-4 (c) Any bequest, gift, or grant of money or property 2-5 accepted by the Fannin State Park Advisory Commission under Section 2-6 22.004, Parks and Wildlife Code, repealed by Section 2 of this Act, 2-7 or by the San Jacinto Historical Advisory Board under Section 2-8 22.014, Parks and Wildlife Code, repealed by Section 2 of this Act, 2-9 that is held by the board or commission on August 31, 1999, is 2-10 transferred on September 1, 1999, to the Parks and Wildlife 2-11 Department; if a grantor of transferred funds or property specified 2-12 a purpose for which the funds or property were to be used, the 2-13 department shall use those funds or property for the specified 2-14 purpose. 2-15 (d) The department shall retain all data collected under 2-16 Sections 22.005 and 22.015, Parks and Wildlife Code, repealed by 2-17 Section 2 of this Act, and shall use it to depict the story of 2-18 Texas history and independence at the appropriate battleground. 2-19 SECTION 4. The importance of this legislation and the 2-20 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 2-21 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 2-22 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 2-23 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
