No. 2299 1-2 (In the Senate - Received from the House April 26, 1999; 1-3 April 27, 1999, read first time and referred to Committee on State 1-4 Affairs; May 7, 1999, reported favorably by the following vote: 1-5 Yeas 7, Nays 0; May 7, 1999, sent to printer.) 1-6 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1-7 AN ACT 1-8 relating to naming the former life skills building at the Texas 1-9 School for the Blind and Visually Impaired in honor of Ann 1-10 Silverrain. 1-11 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-12 SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 30, Education Code, is 1-13 amended by adding Section 30.029 to read as follows: 1-14 Sec. 30.029. ANN P. SILVERRAIN BUILDING. The classroom 1-15 building on the campus of the Texas School for the Blind and 1-16 Visually Impaired formerly known as the Life Skills Building, 1-17 located at the rear of the east side of the campus near Sunshine 1-18 Drive at 1100 West 45th Street in Austin, is named the Ann P. 1-19 Silverrain Building in honor of Ann P. Silverrain. 1-20 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the 1-21 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-22 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-23 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-24 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, 1-25 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its 1-26 passage, and it is so enacted. 1-27 * * * * *
