1-1 AN ACT
1-2 relating to the Crime Stoppers Advisory Council.
1-3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-4 SECTION 1. Section 414.002(c), Government Code, is amended
 1-5 to read as follows:
1-6 (c) The term of office of a member is four [two] years.
1-7 SECTION 2. At their first meeting after this Act takes
1-8 effect, the members of the Crime Stoppers Advisory Council shall
1-9 draw for three terms expiring September 1, 2000, and two terms
1-10 expiring September 1, 2001.
1-11 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the
1-12 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-13 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-14 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-15 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
