1-1 AN ACT
1-2 relating to the salary of the county judge of Dallas County.
1-3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-4 SECTION 1. Section 152.904, Local Government Code, is
1-5 amended by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
1-6 (f) The commissioners court of Dallas County shall set the
1-7 annual salary of the county judge at an amount that is not less
1-8 than $1,000 more than the total annual salary received by a county
1-9 criminal court at law judge in the county. The salary shall be
1-10 paid in 12 equal monthly installments.
1-11 SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only
1-12 to a salary of the county judge in Dallas County that is set by the
1-13 commissioners court on or after the effective date of this Act.
1-14 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the
1-15 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-16 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-17 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-18 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
1-19 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
1-20 passage, and it is so enacted.
