1-1 AN ACT
1-2 relating to the assessment of certain fees on persons who perform
1-3 radiologic procedures.
1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-5 SECTION 1. Section 2.09, Medical Radiologic Technologist
1-6 Certification Act (Article 4512m, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes),
1-7 is amended by amending Subsection (d) and adding Subsection (e) to
1-8 read as follows:
1-9 (d) The Texas Board of Health may set fees:
1-10 (1) for examination, certificate issuance, and
1-11 certificate renewal; and
1-12 (2) as necessary to register a person required to
1-13 comply with Section 2.05(f) of this Act or to process an
1-14 application under Section 2.05(i) of this Act for a hardship
1-15 exemption from the registration requirement.
1-16 (e) The Texas Board of Health shall set [the] fees under
1-17 Subsection (d) in amounts that are reasonable to cover the costs of
1-18 administering this Act without the use of additional general
1-19 revenue funds.
1-20 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 1999.
1-21 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the
1-22 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-23 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-24 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
2-1 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
