1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to the powers and duties of the executive director of the 1-3 workforce development division of the Texas Workforce Commission. 1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-5 SECTION 1. Section 302.002, Labor Code, is amended by adding 1-6 Subsection (f) to read as follows: 1-7 (f) In addition to the services provided under Subsection 1-8 (a)(12), the executive director may enter into contracts with local 1-9 workforce development boards or other entities to establish service 1-10 level agreements for technology assistance and support. The 1-11 executive director may charge fees for services based on the 1-12 service level options selected by those entities. All fees 1-13 collected under this subsection may be used only by the commission 1-14 to pay costs incurred in providing those services. 1-15 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 1999. 1-16 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the 1-17 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-18 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-19 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-20 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended. _______________________________ _______________________________ President of the Senate Speaker of the House I certify that H.B.
