1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to the sale of flags flown over the Capitol and similar 1-3 items. 1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-5 SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 301, Government Code, is 1-6 amended by adding Section 301.033 to read as follows: 1-7 Sec. 301.033. SALE OF TEXAS FLAGS AND SIMILAR ITEMS. Either 1-8 house of the legislature may acquire and provide for the sale of 1-9 Texas flags and other items carrying symbols of the State of 1-10 Texas. 1-11 SECTION 2. Section 497.010, Government Code, is amended by 1-12 adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: 1-13 (c) It is an exception to the application of this section 1-14 that the article or product sold is a state flag or similar item 1-15 produced for sale or distribution by the legislature under Section 1-16 301.033. 1-17 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the 1-18 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-19 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-20 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-21 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, 1-22 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its 1-23 passage, and it is so enacted. _______________________________ _______________________________ President of the Senate Speaker of the House I certify that H.B.
