Bill not drafted by TLC or Senate E&E.
                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-1 AN ACT
1-2 relating to the appeals panel decision in workers' compensation
 1-3 cases.
1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-5 SECTION 1. Section 410.204, Labor Code, is amended by adding
1-6 Subsection (d) to read as follows:
1-7 (d) Each final decision of the appeals panel shall conclude
1-8 with a separate paragraph stating: "The true corporate name of the
1-9 insurance carrier is (NAME IN BOLD PRINT) and the name and address
1-10 of its registered agent for service of process is (NAME AND ADDRESS
1-11 IN BOLD PRINT)."
1-12 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 1999, and
1-13 applies only to claim for workers' compensation benefits filed on
1-14 or after that date. A claim that is filed before the effective date
1-15 of this Act is governed by the law in effect on the date that the
1-16 claim was filed, and the former law is continued in effect for that
1-17 purpose.
1-18 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the
1-19 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-20 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-21 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
2-1 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
