1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to the imposition of sanctions by a court on a person who 1-3 signs a pleading or motion. 1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-5 SECTION 1. Section 9.012, Civil Practice and Remedies Code, 1-6 is amended by adding Subsection (h) to read as follows: 1-7 (h) This section does not apply to any proceeding to which 1-8 Section 10.004 or Rule 13, Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, applies. 1-9 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 1999. 1-10 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the 1-11 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-12 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-13 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-14 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended. _______________________________ _______________________________ President of the Senate Speaker of the House I certify that H.B.
