1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to certification under the state Medicaid program of 1-3 nursing home beds in certain nursing facilities. 1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-5 SECTION 1. Section 32.0213, Human Resources Code, is amended 1-6 by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: 1-7 (c) The department may exempt a nursing facility from the 1-8 procedures established under this section if the facility: 1-9 (1) is affiliated with a state-supported medical 1-10 school; 1-11 (2) is located on land owned or controlled by the 1-12 state-supported medical school; and 1-13 (3) serves as a teaching facility for physicians and 1-14 related health care professionals. 1-15 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the 1-16 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-17 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-18 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-19 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, 1-20 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its 1-21 passage, and it is so enacted. _______________________________ _______________________________ President of the Senate Speaker of the House I certify that H.B.
