HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-1 WHEREAS, The Legislature of the State of Texas is proud to 1-2 pay tribute to the men and women of our armed forces, whose 1-3 unflinching bravery and willingness to serve have guaranteed the 1-4 precious freedoms enjoyed by all Americans; now, therefore, be it 1-5 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives and Senate of the 1-6 76th Legislature of the State of Texas meet in Joint Session in the 1-7 Hall of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, February 16, 1999, 1-8 at 11 a.m.; and, be it further 1-9 RESOLVED, That the Honorable George W. Bush, Governor of the 1-10 State of Texas, be, and is hereby, invited to address the Regular 1-11 Session of the 76th Texas Legislature in Joint Session at that 1-12 time; and, be it further 1-13 RESOLVED, That February 16, 1999, be declared Military 1-14 Appreciation Day at the State Capitol and that the top commanding 1-15 officers from the active military bases in Texas be invited to the 1-16 State Capitol on that day to be recognized by the legislature; and, 1-17 be it further 1-18 RESOLVED, That each base select a "Soldier, Sailor, or Airman 1-19 of the Year" and that they be invited to attend Military 1-20 Appreciation Day at the State Capitol to be recognized by the 1-21 legislature; and, be it further 1-22 RESOLVED, That the members of the Texas Strategic Military 1-23 Planning Commission also be invited to attend and be recognized on 1-24 Military Appreciation Day at the State Capitol.
