HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-1 WHEREAS, The Legislature of the State of Texas is proud to 1-2 honor the many industrious Texans who make and distribute paint 1-3 products across the Lone Star State by designating February 10, 1-4 1999, as "Paint the Capitol Day"; and 1-5 WHEREAS, A significant aspect of our state's economy, the 1-6 paint industry provides many manufacturing and retail jobs and 1-7 needed tax resources for state and local governments; and 1-8 WHEREAS, In addition, a variety of emerging technologies are 1-9 dependent on highly refined paints and coatings, and the oil and 1-10 chemical industries in Texas have benefited from use of their 1-11 products in paint; and 1-12 WHEREAS, The many dedicated members of the Texas Paint 1-13 Council provide a valuable service to the citizenry of Texas and it 1-14 is indeed appropriate that these Texans and their industry be 1-15 honored at this time; now, therefore, be it 1-16 RESOLVED, That the 76th Legislature of the State of Texas 1-17 hereby designate February 10, 1999, as "Paint the Capitol Day"; 1-18 and, be it further 1-19 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 1-20 prepared for the Texas Paint Council as an expression of high 1-21 regard by the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
