HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-1 WHEREAS, The rugby team of St. Ambrose Catholic School in 1-2 Houston will soon travel to the United Kingdom to test its mettle 1-3 against some of the top schoolboy teams in England, and this rare 1-4 honor is indeed well-deserved; and 1-5 WHEREAS, This tournament is part of a year-long celebration 1-6 that will culminate with the quadrennial Rugby World Cup 1-7 competition for men, which features many of the world's preeminent 1-8 rugby players; and 1-9 WHEREAS, The team's two-week trip from May 29, 1999, to June 1-10 12, 1999, will allow the Hornets to match their skills against 1-11 other schoolboy-age teams from the world's rugby-playing countries 1-12 in four matches; and 1-13 WHEREAS, The only schoolboy team from the United States to 1-14 receive an invitation to this tournament, the Hornets will be 1-15 representing not only Texas, but America, and it is truly a 1-16 pleasure to wish them well as they travel abroad for this unique 1-17 event; now, therefore, be it 1-18 RESOLVED, That the 76th Legislature of the State of Texas 1-19 hereby recognize the St. Ambrose Catholic School Hornets rugby 1-20 team and extend to the team and its coaches and staff best wishes 1-21 for a successful and memorable trip to the United Kingdom; and, be 1-22 it further 1-23 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 1-24 prepared for the St. Ambrose Catholic School Hornets rugby team 2-1 and its coaches and staff as an expression of high regard by the 2-2 Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
