HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
1-1 WHEREAS, Zig Ziglar has distinguished himself as America's
1-2 foremost motivational businessman, speaker, and trainer, and he
1-3 indeed merits special legislative recognition; and
1-4 WHEREAS, Mr. Ziglar has built his career by sharing with
1-5 others this simple message: "You can have everything you want if
1-6 you will just help enough other people get what they want."; by
1-7 implementing his principle, countless individuals, businesses, and
1-8 organizations throughout the world have achieved remarkable
1-9 results; and
1-10 WHEREAS, The power of Mr. Ziglar's strategies for achievement
1-11 has been felt in boardrooms across this country and in the hearts
1-12 and homes of millions who recognize that hard work, common sense,
1-13 fairness, integrity, commitment, and humor fuel success; and
1-14 WHEREAS, Presidents, celebrities, religious leaders, and
1-15 other citizens the world over have benefited from the guidance of
1-16 Mr. Ziglar, for his message intimately links business reward with
1-17 community success; and
1-18 WHEREAS, This Mississippi native has been recognized by
1-19 numerous organizations and committees, including the 700 Club and
1-20 Toastmasters International; he has received many honors during his
1-21 years of professional service, from the Wilbur M. McFeely Award of
1-22 the National Management Council to the Harry S. Truman
1-23 Distinguished Service Award from the American Association of
1-24 Community Colleges; and
2-1 WHEREAS, Mr. Ziglar is the author of a dozen celebrated
2-2 books, including nine best-sellers, and these titles and many of
2-3 his tapes have been translated into 32 languages; he is perhaps the
2-4 world's best-known authority on the science of human potential, and
2-5 it is justly fitting to honor him at this time; now, therefore, be
2-6 it
2-7 RESOLVED, That the 76th Legislature of the State of Texas
2-8 hereby commend Zig Ziglar for his inspiring motivational and
2-9 goal-setting strategies that have touched the lives of many people
2-10 and extend to him warmest best wishes for continued success and
2-11 happiness; and, be it further
2-12 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-13 prepared for Mr. Ziglar as an expression of highest regard by the
2-14 Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
