No. 260 76R11883 JBR-D HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-1 WHEREAS, Firefighters and paramedics who dedicate themselves 1-2 to the difficult and dangerous work of ensuring public safety are 1-3 truly deserving of recognition, admiration, and respect; and 1-4 WHEREAS, In committing themselves to safeguarding the 1-5 security of the general public, these individuals routinely incur 1-6 great risk and confront grave danger; and 1-7 WHEREAS, These men and women dedicate themselves to providing 1-8 lifesaving care in emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 1-9 and immediate access to quality emergency care improves the 1-10 survival rate of those who are in harm's way and reduces property 1-11 losses; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Citizens of the Lone Star State benefit daily from 1-13 the knowledge and skills of these highly trained individuals, and 1-14 it is duly appropriate to recognize the value and the 1-15 accomplishments of firefighters and paramedics and to honor these 1-16 dedicated public servants for their noteworthy contributions to 1-17 their fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it 1-18 RESOLVED, That the 76th Legislature of the State of Texas 1-19 hereby declare October 4-9, 1999, "Firefighters and Paramedics 1-20 Recognition Week" and extend sincere appreciation to the 1-21 extraordinary firefighters and paramedics of Texas for their 1-22 service to the public and best wishes for their continued safety.
