No. 263 76R15113 GMW-D HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-1 WHEREAS, On May 7, 1999, the children of El Paso will 1-2 celebrate Kids Day, and this auspicious occasion is most worthy of 1-3 special recognition; and 1-4 WHEREAS, The event's myriad activities will include a parade 1-5 in which more than 1,000 El Paso schoolchildren will march; the 1-6 event will also feature the T.A.A.S. Masters riding the Border 1-7 Jumper Trolleys and an appearance by the United States Customs 1-8 helicopter, which will land in the field of Clardy Elementary 1-9 School as a salute to Kids Day; and 1-10 WHEREAS, To participate in Kids Day, every school in El Paso 1-11 must complete a community service project, and these endeavors are 1-12 of great benefit to the community; in honor of this festive day, 1-13 local merchants and Partners in Education will have special 1-14 promotions for children, and as an added treat, there will be no 1-15 homework assigned on Kids Day; and 1-16 WHEREAS, The joyous celebration of Kids Day is truly a 1-17 fitting tribute to the children of El Paso, and as they take part 1-18 in this unique event, it is indeed appropriate to honor these 1-19 future leaders of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the 76th Legislature of the State of Texas 1-21 hereby honor the children of El Paso as they participate in Kids 1-22 Day and extend to all those associated with this occasion sincere 1-23 best wishes for a successful event.
