                             HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
 1-1           WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary is truly cause for a
 1-2     celebration, and on January 28, 1999, Carl and Carolyn Hilderbran
 1-3     of Uvalde marked one such significant milestone in their marriage;
 1-4     and
 1-5           WHEREAS, The couple met while both were students at Texas A&I
 1-6     University and eloped two months later; Mr. Hilderbran and the
 1-7     former Carolyn Cecile Guidry were married in his sister's home in
 1-8     Sinton and they have made their home in Uvalde for more than 40
 1-9     years; and
1-10           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Hilderbran have enjoyed a union built
1-11     on a solid foundation of mutual love, trust, and respect, and these
1-12     values have fostered a warm and caring environment that has
1-13     nurtured their family through the years; they have been blessed
1-14     with four sons, C. B. Hilderbran, Vic Hilderbran, Jody Hilderbran,
1-15     and our colleague, State Representative Harvey Hilderbran, as well
1-16     as five beloved grandchildren; and
1-17           WHEREAS, For half a century, this devoted couple have shared
1-18     many happy times and cherished family memories; their commitment to
1-19     each other is a source of great pride to their family and many
1-20     friends, and it is indeed appropriate that they be honored at this
1-21     time; now, therefore, be it
1-22           RESOLVED, That the 76th Legislature of the State of Texas
1-23     hereby congratulate Carl and Carolyn Hilderbran on the occasion of
1-24     their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best
 2-1     wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
 2-2           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-3     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Hilderbran as an expression of high
 2-4     regard by the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
