HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
 1-1           WHEREAS, Students from Midland High School performed
 1-2     exceptionally well at the State Industrial Technology Competition
 1-3     held in Waco on May 6 and 7, 1999, and they are indeed deserving of
 1-4     special legislative recognition for their fine showing; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, These young scholars competed in a variety of
 1-6     categories, including drafting, electronics, engineering, and
 1-7     architecture, submitting projects and participating in on-site
 1-8     testing against their peers; although only a handful of students
 1-9     made the trek to Waco, the camaraderie that was evidenced underlies
1-10     the team-oriented aspect of this event; and
1-11           WHEREAS, On-site testing winners included Chris Sexton, Will
1-12     Harlan, and Rene Cardenas; Mr. Sexton and Mr. Harlan also received
1-13     "best in state" awards for their projects, as did Melissa Blodgett
1-14     and Tonya Blodgett, and Mr. Cardenas was cited for his project's
1-15     merit as well; and
1-16           WHEREAS, Bo Buskirk was presented with a certificate of
1-17     outstanding achievement in engineering graphics, and the following
1-18     students won prizes for their projects: Julie Young, Dustin Conley,
1-19     Carson Cullen, Tony Billington, Horacio Garcia, Jordan Braun, Betsy
1-20     Morris, Matthew Anderson, Jonathan Carr, Scott Clarke, Luke Watson,
1-21     Aaron Porter, Gerardo Sanchez, Laci Ridgeway, and Nick Burrow; and
1-22           WHEREAS, Other students whose projects were recognized
1-23     include: Shane Moody, David Lucas, Sam Bakke, Spencer Blake, Leslie
1-24     Rodriguez, TJay Richmond, Austen Campbell, Matt Hood, Justin Lyssy,
 2-1     Josh Brown, Matt Davis, Ben Howard, Jessie Anderson, Jeremy Garza,
 2-2     Blake Leggett, Tony Nunez, Stu Yeager, and Kreg Lusby; and
 2-3           WHEREAS, These remarkable young people have represented their
 2-4     school and themselves in a most impressive manner, gaining the
 2-5     respect and admiration of their fellow students, while learning and
 2-6     applying valuable skills; now, therefore, be it
 2-7           RESOLVED, That the 76th Legislature of the State of Texas
 2-8     hereby commend these exemplary Midland High School students for
 2-9     their outstanding performance at the State Industrial Technology
2-10     Competition and extend to them best wishes for continued success in
2-11     all their future endeavors; and, be it further
2-12           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-13     prepared for these students as an expression of high regard by the
2-14     Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
