No. 306 76R17643 JHS-D HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-1 WHEREAS, Students from Lee High School performed 1-2 exceptionally well at the State Industrial Technology Competition 1-3 held in Waco on May 6-7, 1999, and they are indeed deserving of 1-4 special legislative recognition for their fine showing; and 1-5 WHEREAS, These young scholars competed in a variety of 1-6 categories, including drafting, electronics, engineering, and 1-7 architecture, submitting projects and participating in on-site 1-8 testing against their peers; although only a handful of students 1-9 made the trek to Waco, the camaraderie that was evidenced during 1-10 the event underlies the team-oriented aspect of the competition; 1-11 and 1-12 WHEREAS, On-site testing winners included John Kimbrough, 1-13 Brian Traughber, Mike Hess, Jennifer Dzubinski, and Josh Roman; 1-14 Miss Dzubinski and Mr. Roman received "best in state" awards for 1-15 their projects, as did Kris Berthold, and Mr. Kimbrough, 1-16 Mr. Traughber, and Mr. Hess were cited for their projects' merit; 1-17 and 1-18 WHEREAS, The following students also won prizes for their 1-19 projects: Shalin Patel, Richard Rodelo, Daniel Scott Carnett, Ross 1-20 Moshell, Nathan Puthoff, Marshall Grillos, Jeremy Brown, and 1-21 Michael Hunt; and 1-22 WHEREAS, These remarkable young people have represented their 1-23 school and themselves in a most impressive manner, gaining the 1-24 respect and admiration of their fellow students while learning and 2-1 applying valuable skills; now, therefore, be it 2-2 RESOLVED, That the 76th Legislature of the State of Texas 2-3 hereby commend these exemplary Lee High School students for their 2-4 outstanding performance at the State Industrial Technology 2-5 Competition and extend to them best wishes for continued success in 2-6 all their future endeavors; and, be it further 2-7 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-8 prepared for these students as an expression of high regard by the 2-9 Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
