HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas Legislature is indeed proud to honor the
 1-2     long-standing commitment and many accomplishments of Oklahoma State
 1-3     Senator Larry Dickerson and to wish him well in the coming year;
 1-4     and
 1-5           WHEREAS, A resident of Poteau, Oklahoma, Senator Dickerson
 1-6     has enjoyed an exemplary career as an attorney and was employed in
 1-7     the office of the district attorney for LeFlore County before his
 1-8     election to the legislature; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Senator Dickerson has shared his insight and ability
1-10     as a member of the Oklahoma Senate since 1986, and he has
1-11     distinguished himself on a number of legislative groups, including
1-12     the Judiciary, Rules, Appropriations, General Government, and
1-13     Energy, Environmental Resources, and Regulatory Affairs committees;
1-14     in addition, this dedicated public servant  currently  chairs the
1-15     Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government and
1-16     Transportation; and
1-17           WHEREAS, His legal and governmental experience, combined with
1-18     his commitment to regional issues, has encouraged his valued
1-19     participation in both the National Conference of State Legislatures
1-20     and the Southern Legislative Conference; Senator Dickerson is also
1-21     highly regarded for his service as an executive committee member
1-22     and former chairman of The Energy Council; and
1-23           WHEREAS, Throughout his many endeavors, Senator Dickerson has
1-24     enjoyed the love and affection of his family, including his wife,
 2-1     Dee Ann, and his son, John Lawrence; and
 2-2           WHEREAS, This fine gentleman has devoted much time and energy
 2-3     to a variety of causes over the years, and after winning a battle
 2-4     against cancer 20 years ago, he made it a point to work with other
 2-5     cancer patients, trying to ease their fears by relating his own
 2-6     positive experiences and outcome; though Senator Dickerson is
 2-7     battling the disease a second time, his prognosis is encouraging
 2-8     and it is fitting that we offer him our support at this time; now,
 2-9     therefore, be it
2-10           RESOLVED, That the 76th Legislature of the State of Texas
2-11     hereby commend Oklahoma State Senator Larry Dickerson for his many
2-12     achievements and extend to him warmest best wishes for a full and
2-13     speedy recovery; and, be it further
2-14           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-15     prepared for Senator Dickerson as an expression of high regard by
2-16     the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
