R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The family and many friends of Christopher Ray Smith
 1-2     were greatly saddened by his untimely passing on August 23, 1998,
 1-3     at the age of 12, and we join them in mourning their loss; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Born September 14, 1985, Christopher Smith was a
 1-5     resident of Damon, where he was a student at Damon School and a
 1-6     valued member of the First Baptist Church; and
 1-7           WHEREAS, This young man of considerable gifts loved being
 1-8     outdoors and spending time with his friends; his warm and endearing
 1-9     presence was always welcome wherever he went and will indeed be
1-10     deeply missed; and
1-11           WHEREAS, Christopher Ray Smith faced a future bright with
1-12     promise and although his life was tragically cut short, his memory
1-13     will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of the many people
1-14     whose lives he touched; now, therefore, be it
1-15           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-16     Legislature hereby honor the memory of Christopher Ray Smith and
1-17     extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
1-18     mother, Lily Smith; to his father, James Smith; to his brother,
1-19     Adam Smith; and to the many other relatives and friends of this
1-20     beloved young man; and, be it further
1-21           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-22     prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas
1-23     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
1-24     Christopher Ray Smith.
