R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Hamilton High School Band has been selected to 1-2 march in the Texas Inaugural Parade on January 19, 1999, and this 1-3 invitation is indeed an outstanding honor; and 1-4 WHEREAS, The talented musicians of this distinguished 1-5 ensemble are quite familiar with performing on notable occasions, 1-6 having showcased their talents at the 1997 Presidential Inaugural 1-7 Music Festival in Washington, D.C., and at both Disneyland and 1-8 Disney World; and 1-9 WHEREAS, This award-winning band has earned UIL Division I 1-10 trophies in marching contests for the last seven years, in addition 1-11 to garnering five Sweepstakes Awards; this remarkable history of 1-12 excellence helped Hamilton High School to attain the Lone Star Cup, 1-13 which is presented to the most successful 2A high school in Texas; 1-14 and 1-15 WHEREAS, The dedication and talent exhibited by the members 1-16 of the Hamilton High School Band are a source of great pride to the 1-17 school's student body and faculty, and it is truly fitting that 1-18 they be recognized on the occasion of their most recent 1-19 accomplishment; now, therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 1-21 Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the Hamilton High 1-22 School Band on being chosen to participate in the Texas Inaugural 1-23 Parade and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success 1-24 and happiness in the years to come; and, be it further 2-1 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-2 prepared for the Hamilton High School Band as an expression of high 2-3 regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
