R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is indeed proud 1-2 to recognize El Paso residents Jetta Roberts, Vernon Haverstick, 1-3 and Sally Johnson for their exceptional efforts in behalf of the 1-4 State of Texas and its senior citizens as members of the 1-5 Silver-Haired Legislature; and 1-6 WHEREAS, This noteworthy group is known across the Lone Star 1-7 State for its work representing the special needs of the elderly in 1-8 Texas; and 1-9 WHEREAS, By developing community leaders able to target 1-10 specific problems and areas of interest to seniors, the 1-11 Silver-Haired Legislature has greatly contributed to the political 1-12 process in Texas for their involvement has helped the legislature 1-13 to better identify and address a host of important issues affecting 1-14 the lives of countless Texans; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Through their work with this remarkable 1-16 organization, Jetta Roberts, Vernon Haverstick, and Sally Johnson 1-17 have forged a powerful and effective voice for a vital segment of 1-18 the state's population, and their noble efforts are truly worthy of 1-19 special legislative recognition at this time; now, therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 1-21 Legislature hereby honor Jetta Roberts, Vernon Haverstick, and 1-22 Sally Johnson for their work as members of the Silver-Haired 1-23 Legislature and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued 1-24 success and happiness; and, be it further 2-1 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-2 prepared for each of these esteemed Texans as an expression of 2-3 highest regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
