                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The passing of William Arthur Biehler on January 12,
 1-2     1999, at the age of 76, has greatly saddened the family and many
 1-3     friends of this esteemed gentleman; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mr. Biehler was born on March 5,
 1-5     1922, in Palestine and graduated from Palestine High School before
 1-6     attending Texas A&M University; and
 1-7           WHEREAS, A proud military veteran, he served one tour of duty
 1-8     in the U.S.  Army and another tour of duty in the U.S. Navy during
 1-9     World War II; and
1-10           WHEREAS, On September 18, 1949, Mr. Biehler was united in
1-11     matrimony with his wife of nearly 50 years, the former Sallie Jane
1-12     McCormick; the couple made their home in Palmer until moving to
1-13     Waxahachie in 1980; and
1-14           WHEREAS, Mr. Biehler enjoyed an impressive 34-year tenure as
1-15     a salesman and branch manager with Sepco Industries; he was active
1-16     with the First United Methodist Church of Palmer, where he was a
1-17     lay leader, served on the finance and grounds committee, and was
1-18     known for the little things he did around the church to make others
1-19     more comfortable; and
1-20           WHEREAS, William Arthur Biehler was a man of integrity,
1-21     compassion, and generosity, and although he will be missed by all
1-22     those who knew him, his spirit will surely live on in the hearts
1-23     and minds of the many people whose lives he touched; now,
1-24     therefore, be it
 2-1           RESOLVED, That special tribute be paid to the life of William
 2-2     Arthur Biehler and that sincere sympathy be extended to the members
 2-3     of his family: to his wife, Sallie Jane Biehler; to his special
 2-4     nieces, Jill Tufano and Teresa Butler;  and to the other relatives
 2-5     and friends of this beloved man; and, be it further
 2-6           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-7     prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas
 2-8     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
 2-9     William Arthur Biehler.
