R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The anniversary of two outstanding Texans who have
 1-2     shared more than 50 happy and rewarding years of marriage is indeed
 1-3     worthy of special recognition, and Julius and Pauline Kalina of Bay
 1-4     City have marked just such a momentous event in their lives; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Mr. Kalina and the former Miss Pauline Sabrasula
 1-6     were united in marriage on November 11, 1947; he is a retired
 1-7     farmer and rancher, while Mrs. Kalina has served as part-time
 1-8     deputy clerk in the automobile department of the county tax
 1-9     assessor; and
1-10           WHEREAS, Their long and successful marriage has been blessed
1-11     with the love of four children; Larry, Patsy, Peggy, and Geraldine,
1-12     and the family's years together truly have been happy ones, filled
1-13     with many joyful memories; and
1-14           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Kalina have been exemplary volunteers
1-15     with a number of area civic groups, particularly the local 4-H
1-16     club; Mr. Kalina has been a leader in the group for 35 years, while
1-17     Mrs. Kalina has been acknowledged for her outstanding volunteer
1-18     service to 4-H and has served as chairwoman of the Wharton County
1-19     4-H Food Show; and
1-20           WHEREAS, In addition to his active involvement with 4-H,
1-21     Mr. Kalina has been a member of the Young Farmers Organization, the
1-22     Wharton County Farm Bureau, and the Wharton County Youth Fair;
1-23     Mrs. Kalina has been recognized for her years of service by being
1-24     named Conservative Homemaker of the Year and by having the 1986
 2-1     Wharton County Youth Fair dedicated to her; and
 2-2           WHEREAS, In their time at home, the Kalinas enjoy ranching,
 2-3     gardening, and working in their fruit and pecan orchards; with
 2-4     love, devotion, and great patience, this noteworthy couple has
 2-5     indeed reaped the bounty of their half-century together, and it is
 2-6     justly fitting to honor them; now, therefore, be it
 2-7           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-8     Legislature hereby congratulate Julius and Pauline Kalina on their
 2-9     wedding anniversary and extend to them warmest best wishes for
2-10     continued happiness and good fortune; and, be it further
2-11           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-12     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Kalina as an expression of high regard by
2-13     the Texas House of Representatives.
