R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The retirement of Nelda Neal as city secretary of
 1-2     Corsicana brought to a close the career of a remarkable public
 1-3     servant, and she is truly worthy of special praise and recognition
 1-4     for her many years of dedicated service; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Mrs. Neal has been a valuable asset to the city of
 1-6     Corsicana for more than four decades, and her leadership and
 1-7     dedication have earned her the respect and admiration of the
 1-8     numerous city officials who have had the privilege of working with
 1-9     her; and
1-10           WHEREAS, City secretary for the past 28 years, her diligent
1-11     efforts and knowledge of the Local Government Code, elections,
1-12     financing, budgeting, and bond issues were essential to the
1-13     efficient operation of the city manager's office; and
1-14           WHEREAS, For her legacy of hard work and devotion, this
1-15     outstanding woman was recognized at a retirement reception held in
1-16     her honor; in her well-deserved retirement she will spend more time
1-17     with her husband of 44 years, Franklin Neal, and her two children,
1-18     Danny and Carla; and
1-19           WHEREAS, Nelda Neal has distinguished herself as a public
1-20     servant of ability and integrity, as well as a woman of grace and
1-21     honor, and it is indeed appropriate at this time to acknowledge her
1-22     many contributions to her fellow Corsicanans; now, therefore, be it
1-23           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-24     Legislature hereby honor Nelda Neal for her longtime service as
 2-1     city secretary of Corsicana and extend to her sincere best wishes
 2-2     for continued success and happiness in her retirement; and, be it
 2-3     further
 2-4           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-5     prepared for Nelda Neal as an expression of high regard by the
 2-6     Texas House of Representatives.
