R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The passing of Albert "Cowboy" Adams, Jr., on August
 1-2     29, 1998, at the age of 77, brought a great loss to the family and
 1-3     many friends of this beloved gentleman; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, A native and lifelong resident of Orange, Mr. Adams
 1-5     was a cattleman and rancher in the area as well as an Orange County
 1-6     Drainage District director and former county poundmaster; and
 1-7           WHEREAS, Beloved throughout the community, he served with his
 1-8     wife, Marcelle, as grand marshal of the Orange Jaycees Christmas
 1-9     Parade and was widely known for his keen understanding of horses,
1-10     which he demonstrated through his active membership in the Orange
1-11     County Sheriff's Posse and the American Quarter Horse Association;
1-12     and
1-13           WHEREAS, Mr. Adams served his country as a Navy Seabee and
1-14     was a veteran of World War II; a dedicated civil service employee,
1-15     he was a diver and rigger for the Orange Naval Base for 27 years;
1-16     and
1-17           WHEREAS, Albert "Cowboy" Adams, Jr., was a man of great
1-18     integrity and compassion, and his strength of character earned him
1-19     the respect of all who knew him; although his presence and insight
1-20     will be deeply missed, his unique spirit will surely live on in the
1-21     hearts of those who loved him; now, therefore, be it
1-22           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-23     Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Albert "Cowboy"
1-24     Adams, Jr., and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his
 2-1     family: to his wife, Marcelle Adams; to his daughter, Theresa
 2-2     Beauchamp; to his brother, Charles Hubbard; to his grandson,
 2-3     Bradley Adams Beauchamp; and to the many other people whose lives
 2-4     were touched by this fine Texan; and, be it further
 2-5           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-6     prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas
 2-7     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
 2-8     Albert "Cowboy" Adams, Jr.
