By Cuellar H.R. No. 95 76R4987 JBR-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The recent passing of Concepcion H. Farias on 1-2 January 6, 1999, at the age of 82, has brought a great loss to the 1-3 relatives and friends of this esteemed woman; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Born in Masapil, Zacatecas, Mexico, Mrs. Farias 1-5 later moved to Texas, making her home in Laredo; and 1-6 WHEREAS, Mrs. Farias was known for her benevolence, which was 1-7 readily seen through her familial relationships; she and her 1-8 husband, the late Hector Farias, Sr., provided their six children 1-9 with a solid base of love, trust, and respect, giving them the 1-10 confidence and support that have enabled them to become the people 1-11 they are today; and 1-12 WHEREAS, A devout Catholic, Mrs. Farias gave generously of 1-13 her time to St. John Neuman's Catholic Church, and she was 1-14 employed by the Laredo Independent School District's central 1-15 kitchen until 1989; in addition, her participation as a charter 1-16 member of the Beype Social Club created lasting friendships and 1-17 many delightful moments in her life; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share the love of 1-19 Mrs. Farias will long miss her presence, and her unique spirit will 1-20 surely live on in the hearts and minds of those who loved her; now, 1-21 therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 1-23 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Concepcion H. Farias 1-24 and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her 2-1 children and their spouses, Dr. Hector Farias, Jr., and Diana 2-2 Farias, Carlos L. and Linda Farias, Luis Felipe and Jo Emma Farias, 2-3 Ana Isabel and J. R. Muller, Guillermo E. and Laura Farias, and 2-4 Arturo R. and Maria Eugenia Farias; to her 20 grandchildren and 2-5 seven great-grandchildren; to her sisters-in-law, Angelina F. 2-6 Gonzales and Griselda Casso; to her brother-in-law, Daniel O. 2-7 Farias; and to her nieces and nephews; and, be it further 2-8 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-9 prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas 2-10 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-11 Concepcion H. Farias.
