R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary is truly a cause for
 1-2     celebration, and on January 7, 1999, Robert and Winifred Spooner
 1-3     marked such a noteworthy occasion in the company of their family
 1-4     and friends; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, The couple were married on January 7, 1939, at St.
 1-6     Faith's Church in Gaywood, Kings Lynn, Norfolk, England; their
 1-7     strong and enduring relationship is blessed with three daughters,
 1-8     Jean Holt of Midland, Jill Wall of Lake Brownwood, and Pamela
 1-9     Spooner of Alpine; and
1-10           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Spooner immigrated to the United States
1-11     with their youngest daughter in 1963 to join their other children,
1-12     who were already living in this country; the couple resided in
1-13     Odessa for 30 years before making their new home in Midland five
1-14     years ago; and
1-15           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Spooner have shared many happy times
1-16     and cherished memories; their commitment to each other and to their
1-17     community is a source of great pride to their family and friends,
1-18     and it is indeed appropriate that they be honored at this time;
1-19     now, therefore, be it
1-20           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-21     Legislature hereby congratulate Robert and Winifred Spooner on the
1-22     occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them
1-23     sincere best wishes for continued happiness in the future; and, be
1-24     it further
 2-1           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-2     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Spooner as an expression of high regard
 2-3     by the Texas House of Representatives.
