No. 128 76R5289 JBR-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans 1-2 who have shared 25 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a 1-3 memorable occasion worthy of honor and praise; and 1-4 WHEREAS, David and Nichi Dunphy will commemorate such an 1-5 event as they sail the seas of the Western Caribbean aboard the Sea 1-6 Princess in early February and again when they return to Galveston 1-7 to celebrate in the company of friends and neighbors; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Joined in matrimony on February 22, 1974, in Topeka, 1-9 Kansas, Mr. and Mrs. Dunphy moved to Pirates' Beach, on Galveston 1-10 Island, in August 1991, and have fostered many new friendships and 1-11 established strong community bonds since their arrival; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Mr. Dunphy is retired from Fleming Companies and 1-13 works as a supermarket industry consultant, organizing marketing 1-14 programs for independent retailers and coordinating conferences 1-15 around the United States; during his leisure time he can be seen 1-16 walking on the beach and driving his convertible; and 1-17 WHEREAS, Mrs. Dunphy sells real estate in Galveston and is 1-18 the president-elect of the Galveston Board of Realtors and is on 1-19 the board for Pirates' Beach and Pirates' Cove Home Owners; she is 1-20 involved in community programs and has served as the president of 1-21 Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Gulf Coast and as president of the 1-22 Women's Association at Galveston Country Club; and 1-23 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Dunphy have shared a warm and 1-24 fulfilling relationship filled with many happy times and cherished 2-1 memories, and their marriage is indeed deserving of special 2-2 recognition at this time; now, therefore, be it 2-3 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 2-4 Legislature hereby honor Dave and Nichi Dunphy on their 25th 2-5 wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for 2-6 continued success and happiness in the years to come; and, be it 2-7 further 2-8 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-9 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Dunphy as an expression of high regard by 2-10 the Texas House of Representatives.
