R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans 1-2 who have shared 22 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a 1-3 memorable occasion worthy of honor and praise; and 1-4 WHEREAS, State Representative Ismael "Kino" Flores and his 1-5 bride, Debra, were united in matrimony on February 5, 1977, and 1-6 since their marriage they have been blessed with two children, 1-7 Kino, Jr., age 15, and Eric, age 7; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Both LaJoya natives, Mr. and Mrs. Flores began their 1-9 courtship as junior high school sweethearts at LaJoya schools; 1-10 following graduation, they both attended The University of 1-11 Texas--Pan American (UTPA); and 1-12 WHEREAS, Mrs. Flores received a bachelor of arts degree in 1-13 political science and sociology from UTPA and is currently pursuing 1-14 a master's degree in counseling from UTPA; when she is not occupied 1-15 by her studies, she enjoys swimming, bicycling, reading, and 1-16 dancing; and 1-17 WHEREAS, A respected businessman in the Mission area, 1-18 Mr. Flores began his legislative service as a member of the 75th 1-19 Legislature and he continues to serve the constituents of District 1-20 36 with the utmost integrity today; in his free time, he enjoys 1-21 hunting, fishing, and coaching youth baseball; and 1-22 WHEREAS, This esteemed couple has cultivated many prized 1-23 friendships that were sown from community involvement, their 1-24 professional careers, and their active membership at El Mesias 2-1 United Methodist Church; and 2-2 WHEREAS, For 22 years, the Honorable Ismael "Kino" Flores and 2-3 Debra Flores have shared a warm and joyful relationship filled with 2-4 many happy times and cherished memories, and their marriage is 2-5 indeed deserving of special recognition at this time; now, 2-6 therefore, be it 2-7 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 2-8 Legislature hereby honor State Representative Ismael "Kino" Flores 2-9 and Debra Flores on the occasion of their 22nd wedding anniversary 2-10 and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success and 2-11 happiness; and, be it further 2-12 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-13 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Flores as an expression of high regard by 2-14 the Texas House of Representatives.
