                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, On February 9, 1999, members of Leadership
 1-2     Waxahachie will visit the State Capitol, and this outstanding
 1-3     organization is indeed worthy of special recognition; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce, the
 1-5     Leadership Waxahachie program began in 1991 and provides
 1-6     participants with the opportunity to learn more about the city's
 1-7     history, industry, and culture while preparing for challenging
 1-8     roles as leaders; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, The civic-minded class assists the school district
1-10     and various community leaders and organizations in reaching their
1-11     current and future goals; one of the projects undertaken has been
1-12     the development and expansion of the Junior Leadership Program,
1-13     which strives to instill leadership qualities in Waxahachie youth;
1-14     and
1-15           WHEREAS, The 1998 members of Leadership Waxahachie include
1-16     John Aune, Judy Cross, Tony Lokash, Barry Moore, Michael O'Teter,
1-17     Frank Pope, Larry Shawn, and Scott Presnall, and the group's
1-18     cochairs are past participants Layne Ballard and Sharon Shawn; and
1-19           WHEREAS, Members of Leadership Waxahachie have demonstrated
1-20     true  dedication to their community, and as they continue their
1-21     pursuit of their goals it is fitting that they be honored for their
1-22     significant contributions; now, therefore, be it
1-23           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-24     Legislature hereby commend the members of Leadership Waxahachie for
 2-1     their community involvement and extend to them a warm welcome on
 2-2     the occasion of their visit to the State Capitol; and, be it
 2-3     further
 2-4           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-5     prepared for the members of Leadership Waxahachie as an expression
 2-6     of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
