R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, On December 31, 1998, Harrison and Ona Bickley of
 1-2     Greenwood celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, and we join
 1-3     their family and friends in recognizing this notable occasion; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Mr. Bickley and the former Ona Nichols were united
 1-5     in matrimony on December 31, 1938, at First United Methodist Church
 1-6     of Stanton; their 60-year union has been blessed with two
 1-7     daughters, Shirley Stone and Marilyn Glaspie, four grandchildren,
 1-8     and four great-grandchildren, and the Bickleys' relationship has
 1-9     continued to grow in love and respect with each passing year,
1-10     enriching not only their own lives but the lives of those around
1-11     them; and
1-12           WHEREAS, The devoted couple lived on farms in the Stanton
1-13     area before moving to Midland in 1945 and then, following
1-14     Mr. Bickley's retirement from Superior Oil Company, to Greenwood in
1-15     1976; throughout their marriage, Mrs. Bickley has been a dedicated
1-16     homemaker who derived great pleasure from playing piano and organ
1-17     at church, which she did from the time she was a teenager until
1-18     just a few years ago; and
1-19           WHEREAS, The Bickleys celebrated their diamond anniversary at
1-20     home with a family dinner, followed by a luncheon at Greenwood
1-21     United Methodist Church, of which, along with Asbury Methodist
1-22     Church, they are charter members; and
1-23           WHEREAS, For 60 years, Harrison and Ona Bickley have enjoyed
1-24     a joyous marriage filled with many happy times and cherished family
 2-1     memories, and it is indeed a privilege to join in honoring the
 2-2     Bickleys at this time; now, therefore, be it
 2-3           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-4     Legislature hereby congratulate Harrison and Ona Bickley on the
 2-5     occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them
 2-6     sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
 2-7           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-8     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Bickley as an expression of high regard
 2-9     by the Texas House of Representatives.
