                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans
 1-2     who have shared 50 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a
 1-3     memorable occasion worthy of honor and praise; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, W. D. "Tiny" and Helen Mason of Midland recently had
 1-5     the privilege of commemorating such an event in their lives when
 1-6     they observed their golden wedding anniversary with a trip to
 1-7     sights of interest on the East Coast that included visits to
 1-8     Boston, Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, Bar Harbor, and Newport; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Mason were joined in matrimony on
1-10     December 26, 1948, in Wewoka, Oklahoma; in 1970, the couple moved
1-11     to Midland, where Mr. Mason worked for Seco and Kirkpatrick oil
1-12     companies, retiring from the latter in 1993; Mrs. Mason retired in
1-13     1992, after a 16-year career as a realtor for Don Harvey Realtors;
1-14     and
1-15           WHEREAS, This charming couple has been blessed with one
1-16     daughter, Tina Swanner, as well as a son-in-law, Dan Swanner, and
1-17     three grandchildren; through the years they have cultivated many
1-18     cherished friendships that have continued to prosper, and it is
1-19     indeed a pleasure to honor them on this august occasion; now,
1-20     therefore, be it
1-21           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-22     Legislature hereby honor W. D. "Tiny" and Helen Mason on their 50th
1-23     wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
1-24     continued success and happiness in the years to come; and, be it
 2-1     further
 2-2           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-3     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Mason as an expression of high regard by
 2-4     the Texas House of Representatives.
