R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to
 1-2     recognize one of its own, the Honorable Ronny W. Crownover, and to
 1-3     welcome him back to the chamber on this day; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, A fifth generation Texan, he was born in Crane on
 1-5     April 13, 1945, and completed high school in Big Spring before
 1-6     earning a bachelor's degree in business administration from the
 1-7     University of North Texas; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, Continuing his higher education, he went on to earn
 1-9     a second bachelor's degree and a doctorate in veterinary medicine
1-10     from Texas A&M University and, following graduation, founded the
1-11     Lake Dallas Veterinary Clinic in Denton County, where he remains in
1-12     practice today and is the recipient of much tail wagging; and
1-13           WHEREAS, Through the years, Dr. Crownover has given
1-14     generously of his time and energy to numerous professional and
1-15     civic organizations; a member of the Texas and American Veterinary
1-16     Medical Associations, he has served in the past as president of
1-17     both the Denton County Veterinary Medical Association and the North
1-18     Texas Equine Practitioners Association, as well as a director of
1-19     Lake Cities State Bank and as president of the Lake Cities Chamber
1-20     of Commerce and the Denton High School Athletic Booster Club; and
1-21           WHEREAS, Though Dr. Crownover is beloved by all creatures
1-22     great and small, he is particularly adored by his wife of 29 years,
1-23     Myra Crownover, and their four sons, Scott, Luke, John, and Dan;
1-24     and
 2-1           WHEREAS, This fine gentleman was elected to his first term as
 2-2     a member of this chamber in 1998 and, while serving as a member of
 2-3     this body for the first time is never easy, Dr. Crownover has
 2-4     proven that he is more than up to the task; having sustained a few
 2-5     licks in his life, most notably from his patients, he has stared
 2-6     adversity in the face and sneered at it, and it is truly a pleasure
 2-7     to honor him on his return to this chamber and to commend him on
 2-8     his eagerness to get on with the business of state government; now,
 2-9     therefore, be it
2-10           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
2-11     Legislature hereby recognize the Honorable Ronny W. Crownover,
2-12     D.V.M., as the Toughest Freshman in the Class of 1999 and extend to
2-13     him heartfelt best wishes for much happiness and good fortune in
2-14     the years to come; and, be it further
2-15           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-16     prepared for Dr.  Crownover as an expression of highest regard by
2-17     his colleagues in the Texas House of Representatives.
