No. 147 76R5381 JBR-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Johnathan Colby McMahon's scholastic and personal 1-2 accomplishments exemplify the unique character of this fine young 1-3 man and he is indeed deserving of special recognition; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Born December 31, 1985, three months premature, 1-5 Mr. McMahon weighed two pounds nine ounces at birth, and for the 1-6 first year of his life used an apnea monitor to monitor his heart 1-7 rate and respiration; today he is a bustling seventh grader in 1-8 Rockwall; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Mr. McMahon attended Terrell Christian Academy until 1-10 the sixth grade, when he began attending Herman E. Utley Middle 1-11 School; a leader in his class, this exemplary young man has upheld 1-12 an A/B average since kindergarten and is currently in Honors 1-13 Reading; he is an enthusiastic student of English and Spanish and 1-14 enjoys writing poetry; and 1-15 WHEREAS, A talented wrestler, this outstanding athlete won 1-16 third place in the 38-pound division at the Texas Amateur Wrestling 1-17 Association State Finals at the age of five; Mr. McMahon is also an 1-18 avid football and basketball player, and his athletic exploits 1-19 continue to inspire all who know him; and 1-20 WHEREAS, At the age of 11, Mr. McMahon displayed his 1-21 public-spirited nature when he helped scrape, paint, and repair the 1-22 home of Mr. Rosebud, a Seagoville resident, as part of the yearly 1-23 community service project sponsored by State Representative Dale 1-24 Tillery's office and Seagoville State Bank; the following year, 2-1 Mr. McMahon once again donned his work clothes to help caulk and 2-2 scrape windows and paint the house of a single mom; and 2-3 WHEREAS, Johnathan McMahon has been blessed with a loving and 2-4 supportive family that includes his parents, Patrick and Wendy 2-5 McMahon; his siblings, Brooke and Brittney McMahon; and his 2-6 grandparents Karen McMahon and George and Joyce Williams; and 2-7 WHEREAS, This young man possesses an uncommon character that 2-8 is evidenced by his dedication to academics, athletics, his family, 2-9 and the welfare of his fellow citizens; his impressive leadership 2-10 as a young Texan instills pride in all who know and love him, and 2-11 it is indeed a privilege to honor him at this time; now, therefore, 2-12 be it 2-13 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 2-14 Legislature hereby commend Johnathan Colby McMahon for his 2-15 outstanding citizenship and extend to him sincere best wishes for 2-16 continued success and happiness in all his future endeavors; and, 2-17 be it further 2-18 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-19 prepared for Johnathan McMahon as an expression of high regard by 2-20 the Texas House of Representatives.
