R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to 1-2 welcome the members of the Texas Federation of Republican Women to 1-3 the State Capitol; and 1-4 WHEREAS, The members of the Texas Federation of Republican 1-5 Women have provided a political education forum for women and have 1-6 volunteered countless hours to the campaigns of Republican Party 1-7 candidates; and 1-8 WHEREAS, The dedication, hard work, and perseverance of these 1-9 remarkable women have helped to ensure the election of their 1-10 candidates to city, county, state, and national offices; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Their outstanding accomplishments have increased the 1-12 political awareness and effectiveness of thousands of women by 1-13 persuading them that their participation in the political process 1-14 is important and makes a difference; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Organized 19 years after the formation of the 1-16 National Federation of Republican Women in 1938, the Texas 1-17 Federation of Republican Women is widely recognized as one of the 1-18 largest women's political organizations in Texas; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Under the able guidance of its leaders, the Texas 1-20 Federation of Republican Women will continue to assure a leadership 1-21 role for women in the Republican Party; now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 1-23 Legislature hereby recognize April 29, 1999, as Texas Federation of 1-24 Republican Women Day at the Capitol and acknowledge the fine work 2-1 done by this organization on behalf of the candidates of the 2-2 Republican Party; and, be it further 2-3 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-4 prepared for the members of the Texas Federation of Republican 2-5 Women as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of 2-6 Representatives.
