R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, On January 29, 1999, Bill Daniel of Wichita Falls 1-2 was presented with a Texas Works Partner Award by the Texas 1-3 Department of Human Services in recognition of his efforts in 1-4 helping to move West Texans from welfare to work; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Mr. Daniel is a former Wichita Falls city councilman 1-6 and owner of the local Luby's cafeteria; he has employed at least 1-7 32 former welfare recipients in the past year, providing job 1-8 opportunities for members of the community who have fallen on hard 1-9 times; and 1-10 WHEREAS, This commendable gentleman's personal commitment to 1-11 helping West Texans find gainful employment has greatly contributed 1-12 to the success of the Texas Works Initiative, which could not 1-13 achieve its admirable goals without the support of willing 1-14 employers like Mr. Daniel; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Bill Daniel's dedication to the Wichita Falls 1-16 community has been inspirational, and he is truly deserving of 1-17 special recognition for his willingness to hire and train workers 1-18 who might otherwise have a difficult time finding employment; now, 1-19 therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 1-21 Legislature hereby congratulate Bill Daniel on his receipt of the 1-22 Texas Works Partner Award and extend to him sincere best wishes for 1-23 continued success and happiness in the years to come; and, be it 1-24 further 2-1 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-2 prepared for Mr. Daniel as an expression of high regard by the 2-3 Texas House of Representatives.
