R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
 1-2     Kaye Rosenquist for her many contributions to the quality of life
 1-3     in her northwest Harris County community; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, In the early 1970s Mrs. Rosenquist moved with her
 1-5     husband to the Huntwick subdivision where she began serving as a
 1-6     security coordinator; she redefined the role by becoming a strong
 1-7     advocate for increased citizen awareness and involvement with law
 1-8     enforcement to improve neighborhood security; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Expanding the scope of her duties, she networked
1-10     with surrounding subdivisions, an effort which culminated in 1994
1-11     with the creation of the Northwest Security Coordinators
1-12     Association (NWSCA), a coalition that works in tandem with the
1-13     sheriff's department to promote citizen awareness and involvement
1-14     in keeping communities safe; and
1-15           WHEREAS, Mrs. Rosenquist also oversees publication of the
1-16     NWSCA newsletter,  and she was instrumental in the creation of a
1-17     useful handbook that is issued to every new security coordinator;
1-18     by coordinating speakers and mailouts for the Sheriff's Interaction
1-19     Group, she fosters understanding and support of the department's
1-20     role in citizens' lives; and
1-21           WHEREAS, For more than 20 years, this civic activist has
1-22     shared her expertise with the Cypress Creek Emergency Medical
1-23     Services in various positions of responsibility; she is also a
1-24     member of the Northwest Community League, which coordinates
 2-1     storefront funding and activities and assists in the training and
 2-2     orientation of new security coordinators; and
 2-3           WHEREAS, Mrs. Rosenquist has raised her family in an
 2-4     environment made safer by her endeavors and she has consistently
 2-5     demonstrated her deep understanding of the meaning of community;
 2-6     the indelible signature of her influence and labor are a testament
 2-7     to the difference that one dedicated person can make; now,
 2-8     therefore, be it
 2-9           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
2-10     Legislature hereby congratulate Kaye Rosenquist on her significant
2-11     efforts in promoting neighborhood safety; and, be it further
2-12           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-13     prepared for Mrs. Rosenquist as an expression of high regard by the
2-14     Texas House of Representatives.
