                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The year 1999 marks the 50th anniversary of
 1-2     Southwest Heritage Credit Union, and this is a noteworthy milestone
 1-3     truly worthy of special recognition; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Established in 1949 as Stanolind Odessa Federal
 1-5     Credit Union, this esteemed institution initially offered shares
 1-6     and loans to its 35 charter members; in 1957, it changed its name
 1-7     to Pan American Federal Credit Union, and a decade later switched
 1-8     from a federal charter to a state charter; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, In 1971, it became Amoco Credit Union and, in
1-10     addition to now issuing Mastercard and Visa credit cards, expanded
1-11     its membership base to include 63 companies; further advancements
1-12     included introducing share draft checking accounts in 1981 and a
1-13     24-hour teller in 1996; and
1-14           WHEREAS, The institution changed to its current designation
1-15     of Southwest Heritage Credit Union in 1996, and in the ensuing two
1-16     years the union has introduced the Visa check card, developed
1-17     risk-based lending, and installed the necessary hardware and
1-18     software to become year 2000 compliant; and
1-19           WHEREAS, Throughout the years, this distinguished financial
1-20     establishment has continued to adapt to ever-changing market trends
1-21     to meet the needs of its loyal members, and in recognition of a
1-22     half century of providing a reliable service, it is indeed fitting
1-23     to honor Southwest Heritage Credit Union at this time; now,
1-24     therefore, be it
 2-1           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-2     Legislature hereby congratulate Southwest Heritage Credit Union on
 2-3     its 50th anniversary and extend to all those associated with this
 2-4     estimable institution sincere best wishes for continued success in
 2-5     the years to come; and, be it further
 2-6           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-7     prepared for the Southwest Heritage Credit Union as an expression
 2-8     of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
