                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Citizen participation in the democratic process is
 1-2     necessary to ensure a dynamic and responsive government and the
 1-3     Texas Silver-Haired Legislature has achieved outstanding success in
 1-4     this regard; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, These dedicated volunteers are elected for two-year
 1-6     terms and devote their efforts to developing legislation and policy
 1-7     initiatives of interest to older Texans for presentation to the
 1-8     state legislature; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Vital and valued members of their communities, the
1-10     members of the Texas Silver-Haired Legislature share their years of
1-11     wisdom and experience with government officials, imparting valuable
1-12     insight into the needs of the elderly; and
1-13           WHEREAS, The knowledgeable and committed individuals who
1-14     comprise the Texas Silver-Haired Legislature are working to create
1-15     a brighter future for all Texans, and it is indeed appropriate that
1-16     they be honored for their many significant contributions at this
1-17     time; now, therefore, be it
1-18           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-19     Legislature hereby commend the members of the Texas Silver-Haired
1-20     Legislature for their many outstanding accomplishments and extend
1-21     to them sincere best wishes for continued success in the future;
1-22     and, be it further
1-23           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-24     prepared for the members of the Texas Silver-Haired Legislature as
 2-1     an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
