                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to pay
 1-2     tribute to the Honorable Jim Swartz for his longtime dedication to
 1-3     public service for the City of Wylie; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, A respected leader in this North Texas community,
 1-5     Mr. Swartz has made many significant contributions throughout his
 1-6     tenure in office; during the past decade, he first served with
 1-7     distinction as a member of the city council before assuming the
 1-8     responsibilities of mayor; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Major civic projects that have been accomplished
1-10     during his highly productive tenure in the city's top post include
1-11     the construction of a community center and a water tower; another
1-12     undertaking that is near completion is the replacement of old water
1-13     and sewer lines throughout the city; and
1-14           WHEREAS, Also instrumental in securing land for a new
1-15     community park, Mr. Swartz has led a collaborative effort by the
1-16     city and the school district on that project, and consistently
1-17     applauds the hard work and commitment shown by others in the
1-18     community when he is being commended for his own many good deeds;
1-19     and
1-20           WHEREAS, Jim Swartz has contributed to the betterment of his
1-21     community and his state as a dedicated and productive public
1-22     servant, and his efforts in this regard are truly exemplary; now,
1-23     therefore, be it
1-24           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-1     Legislature hereby commend the Honorable Jim Swartz for his
 2-2     distinguished public service and extend to him sincere best wishes
 2-3     for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
 2-4           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-5     prepared for Mr. Swartz as an expression of high regard by the
 2-6     Texas House of Representatives.
