R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor 1-2 members of the Texas Midwest Community Network delegation on the 1-3 occasion of their visit to the Capitol on March 25, 1999, for Texas 1-4 Midwest Day in Austin; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Texas Midwest Day provides an opportunity for 1-6 citizens from the Texas Midwest to strengthen their participation 1-7 in statewide issues, to express their concerns, and to better 1-8 acquaint state leaders with the needs and attributes of this unique 1-9 area of the Lone Star State; and 1-10 WHEREAS, The Texas Midwest Community Network is an 1-11 organization of civic, government, and business leaders from a 1-12 20-county area that surrounds Abilene; the network was formed to 1-13 foster improved communications and to plan regional economic 1-14 development strategies; and 1-15 WHEREAS, On this day members of the delegation will visit the 1-16 house of representatives, the senate, and the governor's office; 1-17 they will also meet with officials of various state agencies such 1-18 as the Texas Department of Transportation, the Texas Department of 1-19 Economic Development, the Parks and Wildlife Department, and the 1-20 Department of Agriculture, and their trip will undoubtedly be 1-21 informative for all concerned; now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 1-23 Legislature hereby offer a warm welcome to the members of the 1-24 delegation from the Texas Midwest Community Network and extend to 2-1 them sincere best wishes for an enjoyable Texas Midwest Day; and, 2-2 be it further 2-3 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-4 prepared for this organization as an expression of esteem by the 2-5 Texas House of Representatives.
