R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Collin County's Amanda Neff has been recognized as a 1-2 1998 4-H Texas Record Book Winner, and this outstanding achievement 1-3 is truly worthy of special commendation; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Ms. Neff has participated in six 4-H projects over 1-5 the last eight years and has earned numerous awards in the 1-6 categories of horse, food and nutrition, clothing and textiles, 1-7 veterinary science, photography, and horticulture; and 1-8 WHEREAS, This dynamic young woman has proudly served in 1-9 several 4-H leadership positions, including president of her 1-10 chapter, district horse show youth representative, chairman of the 1-11 membership committee, county ambassador president, and president of 1-12 Toastmasters International Youth Leadership; and 1-13 WHEREAS, In addition to her many noteworthy accomplishments, 1-14 she has attended more than two dozen 4-H conferences, including 1-15 State Congress, county, district, and state roundups, the Wonder of 1-16 Washington Tour, and the State Leaders College, to name just a few; 1-17 and 1-18 WHEREAS, Ms. Neff's parents, Robert and Sandra Neff, have 1-19 been immensely supportive of her efforts, providing valuable 1-20 guidance since she joined 4-H, and the leadership skills and 1-21 discipline she has gained through her 4-H participation will no 1-22 doubt serve her well as a student at Texas A&M University and in 1-23 her continued involvement with the equine industry; and 1-24 WHEREAS, The dedication Ms. Neff has shown as a valued 4-H 2-1 member is truly commendable, and it is indeed a privilege to join 2-2 in paying tribute to her at this time; now, therefore, be it 2-3 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 2-4 Legislature hereby commend Amanda Neff for her many achievements as 2-5 a 4-H member and extend to her sincere wishes for continued success 2-6 and happiness in the years to come; and, be it further 2-7 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-8 prepared for Ms. Neff as an expression of high regard by the Texas 2-9 House of Representatives.
