R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, February 20, 1999, will indeed be a special day for
 1-2     Shanthina Denise Guillory and Matthew Ford III, for on this day
 1-3     they will be united in marriage and begin their new life together
 1-4     as husband and wife; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Ms. Guillory is the only daughter of Michael and
 1-6     Leisha Jackson and a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in
 1-7     Baytown; she is currently enrolled at the Texas School of Business
 1-8     where she is studying medical assistance; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Mr. Ford is the son of Michael Ford, Jr., and Della
1-10     Ford Buford and a graduate of Forest Brook High School; he is a
1-11     senior at Texas Southern University where he is studying business
1-12     and music and is the captain of the percussion section of the Ocean
1-13     of Soul Marching Band; and
1-14           WHEREAS, Ms. Guillory and Mr. Ford are both active members of
1-15     Miracle Deliverance Holiness Church and each dedicates time to the
1-16     church; Ms. Guillory volunteers for the youth department, directs
1-17     the tee-tot choir, and is a member of the pastor's aid committee
1-18     while Mr. Ford volunteers for the youth department, is captain of
1-19     the Miracle Deliverance Holiness Church basketball team, and is the
1-20     drummer for the church; and
1-21           WHEREAS, In addition to his already extensive list of
1-22     activities, Mr. Ford has served as an AmeriCorps volunteer and has
1-23     contributed to the enrichment program for schools of the 5th Ward
1-24     as well as to Harris County Children Protective Services; and
 2-1           WHEREAS, The relationship between Ms. Guillory and Mr. Ford
 2-2     has continued to grow in love, respect, and lasting regard for each
 2-3     other, and it is truly fitting that this fortunate pair be
 2-4     congratulated on the joyous celebration of their marriage; now,
 2-5     therefore, be it
 2-6           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-7     Legislature hereby congratulate Shanthina Denise Guillory and
 2-8     Matthew Ford III on the happy occasion of their wedding and extend
 2-9     to them best wishes for a lifetime of happiness together; and, be
2-10     it further
2-11           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-12     prepared for Ms. Guillory and Mr. Ford as an expression of high
2-13     regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
